Site Designer and Device Manager 1.0
Our two Windows tools for installers reached version 1.0 on July 5. Here is what they do and what the free editions include.
Kalytera Tools are Windows applications for the work around a video installation: designing it, commissioning it and testing its alarm signaling. Two of them reached version 1.0 on July 5, 2026.
Site Designer 1.0
Site Designer plans camera coverage before any hardware reaches the site. Import a floor plan (an image, the first page of a PDF, or lines and polylines from a DXF file), place cameras and see what each one covers, with DORI distances drawn on the plan.
- Coverage percentage and blind spots for the areas you care about, and automatic camera placement.
- Fixed, PTZ and 360° cameras, with more than 300 presets for Axis, Dahua and Hikvision models.
- Bandwidth, storage and RAID calculators, and checks for PoE budgets, switch ports and IR range.
- Proposals exported to PDF, CSV and XLSX, from an interface in English or Spanish.
The free edition handles projects with up to five cameras, with Kalytera branding on exports. Site Designer Pro removes the camera limit and adds your own branding, templates and camera-catalog import.
Device Manager 1.0
Device Manager is for commissioning day. It finds ONVIF cameras on every network interface of your laptop and shows each camera's identity, media profiles and stream addresses.
- Take a snapshot and check that each stream starts, with the time it takes to show the first frame.
- Check camera clocks and NTP settings.
- Change settings through native adapters for Axis, Hikvision and Dahua cameras, and through ONVIF for the rest.
Device Manager Pro adds bulk time sync and reboots, inventory export, a paced check for default passwords, diagnostics and a PDF site-survey report.
