About us

We are Kalytera Systems

A software company in Spain. We build video management and alarm software for the people who install and run security systems.

What we build

Video management on your servers or hosted by us

Kalytera VMS and Kalytera Cloud are our main products. Around them we make desktop tools for field work and publish open-source projects.

Kalytera VMS

Self-hosted video management for Windows Server and Linux servers. Operators work in a web browser, recordings are encrypted at rest, exports carry SHA-256 hashes for chain of custody, and virtual alarm panels report to an alarm receiving center over SIA DC-09.

Kalytera Cloud

Hosted video and alarm receiving that we run for you. Cameras connect over RTSP or RTMPS or through Kalytera Bridge Agent, and alarms can be forwarded to an alarm receiving center over SIA DC-09.

Kalytera Tools

Site Designer, Device Manager and DC-09 Studio: Windows apps for planning camera coverage, commissioning cameras and testing SIA DC-09 alarm signaling.

Open source

IPCamLapse turns IP-camera snapshots into time-lapse videos, and OpenCamInterop turns camera events into CloudEvents. Both are on GitHub under the Apache-2.0 license.

Who we work for

People who install and run security systems

Security integrators

Plan a site in Site Designer, commission the cameras with Device Manager and deliver it on Kalytera VMS or Kalytera Cloud.

Installers

Find ONVIF cameras on the network, check their streams and clocks, and confirm coverage with DORI overlays before anything is mounted.

Security teams

Watch live video, handle alarms and review recordings from a browser, with permissions scoped by site, area or device.

Alarm receiving centers

Receive alarms over SIA DC-09 from Kalytera VMS virtual alarm panels and from Kalytera Cloud, and test receivers with DC-09 Studio.

How we work

How we build and support our software

Open standards

We use ONVIF for cameras, SIA DC-09 for alarm signaling and WebRTC for live video in Kalytera VMS, alongside native Axis, Hikvision and Dahua integrations.

Customer-owned data

With Kalytera VMS, video and recordings stay on your own servers. We have no access to them unless you give it to us for a support task.

Engineering-led support

Support requests go to the engineers who write the software, so the answer comes from someone who knows the code.
