Maps
Build floor-plan maps, place cameras and devices on them, link maps together, and follow live state and alarms from the map.
Contents
Maps are built in Configure > Maps & relationships and used in Operate > Maps.
Create a map
- Go to Configure > Maps & relationships and open Map layouts.
- Select New map, or Create first map on a new installation. Enter a Name, an optional Description, and a Parent map if this map belongs under another one.
- Add the Floor-plan background: a PNG or JPEG image of up to 8 MB and 8,192 pixels per side.
- Select Save map.
Place cameras and devices
Open Place on map, search for a camera or another device, and click the plan where it belongs. Each item can appear once per map. For each placement, choose when its Label is shown: Automatic, Always, or Hidden.
Moving an item on a map changes only where it appears. Its site and area stay as set under Sites & relationships.
Link maps together
Nest a map under another with Parent map, place a map link from Nested maps, or draw a shape, set its Purpose to Hotspot, and choose the map it opens. Links that would create a loop are not offered.
Draw on a map
The drawing tools add rectangles, ellipses, polygons, lines, arrows, freehand shapes, and text, with an optional alignment grid. Each shape is visible in both workspaces or in Configure only. Keyboard shortcuts pick the tools: V selects, H pans, and R, E, P, L, F, and T choose drawing tools. Ctrl+Z undoes the last edit.
Use maps in Operate
Operate > Maps shows the map tree and every placed item with its current state and active alarms. Find on maps narrows the view to Active alarms or State attention. Select an item to see its state, then choose Open live, Open playback, or Open details. From an alarm, Open in Maps shows where it happened.
