A Site is a physical location, such as a building or a warehouse. Cameras, I/O devices, and alarm panels belong to a Site, and the Site decides which cameras give evidence for each alarm. A new portal starts with one Site named after your organization. Sites are managed by tenant administrators.

Add a site

  1. Open Sites and select Add site.
  2. Enter the Name, and optionally the Address and a Description.
  3. Select Save details.

Use one Site for each location that should be seen as separate, even at the same street address.

Open a site's workspace

Select a Site's name, or Open workspace in its row. The workspace keeps all of the Site's setup on one page, in sections:

SectionWhat it holds
OverviewThe Setup summary: cameras, panels, evidence associations, and alarm dispatch, with anything that Needs attention or Needs setup.
Cloud armingArming groups and the Site's time zone. See Cloud arming and site controls.
I/O devicesSupported Axis inputs, outputs, and speakers at the Site.
Alarm sourcesPanels and email inputs that raise alarms at this Site.
Camera associationsWhich cameras give video evidence for each alarm source.
Alarm dispatchThe monitoring stations this Site's alarms are sent to, and the account number for each.

Sections appear only when your package includes them. If you leave a section with unsaved changes, the portal asks whether to save them, discard them, or keep editing.

Put cameras in a site

You choose the Site when you add a camera, and an enabled camera needs one. To move a camera later, open it under Cameras and select Change site, or Assign site for a camera without one.

Choose evidence cameras

When an alarm source triggers, Kalytera Cloud attaches video from the cameras associated with it. A camera is always included in the evidence of its own alarms.

  1. Open the Site's Camera associations section.
  2. Select an alarm source, such as a panel zone, an email input, or a camera.
  3. Tick the cameras that should give evidence for it, as many as four, and save.

Video evidence is attached when it is available. It never delays or blocks the alarm itself. The length of each clip is set under Settings > Video evidence; see Alarms and incidents.

Retire a site

A Site that has history is retired rather than deleted, so its recordings, alarms, and audit history stay available.

  1. First move or retire the Site's cameras and panel sources, and remove its monitoring-station selections.
  2. In the Site's row, open More and select Retire site.
  3. Enter a Reason and confirm.

Retirement is terminal. A retired Site stays in history and search and its setup can still be read, but it cannot be used for new cameras or assignments.
